Twenty-Five Years of Faithfulness – His and Ours

by Ron Bare

Not long ago, a couple of my young adult kids asked me what the early days of Bare Wealth Advisors were really like.

I smiled.

It’s not a question I get very often, and I don’t think they were fully prepared for the answer.

I told them about 2001. About the home office. About the milkhouse on the farm where I’d set up to make calls when the kitchen table got too crowded.

I told them about starting my mornings tending chickens, feeding cows, and scraping the barnyard, and then coming inside, cleaning up, putting on a different hat, and picking up the phone to try to find families who would trust a young advisor they’d never heard of.

There wasn’t much to manage in those days.

The income was small. The list of families who had entrusted me with their resources was short. But I was grateful for every single one of them.

Little by little, it started to grow.

I Planted. He Grew.

When I look back on twenty-five years of this work, I don’t see a business story. I see a story of faithfulness, and it belongs to God.

What started as a vision to help people with their money has become something I could not have imagined from that milkhouse. It has become a calling to help families steward their resources with intention and generosity, and to help them see that their wealth is not just a number on a statement, but a tool in the hands of a generous God who wants to use it to change the world.

I planted seeds. He made them grow.

I still believe that with everything in me.

As we approach 900 families that we have the honor of partnering with, I find myself humbled in a way that’s hard to put into words.

Honored.

Grateful.

And deeply aware that none of this happened because we were exceptional. It happened because He is faithful.

What Twenty-Five Years Has Taught Me

I’ve been reflecting on what I know to be true.

Not just from experience, but from Scripture, and after twenty-five years of walking this road. I want to share it with you, because I believe it applies not just to building a business, but to building a life.

God calls us and gives us purpose.

Ephesians 2:10 tells us we are God’s masterpiece, created to do the good works He planned for us long before we were born. You are not here by accident. Your gifts, your resources, your story, they are not random. They are intentional.

He entrusts us with gifts and calls us to be faithful with them.

The Parable of the Talents was not just a teaching for the disciples. It is a daily invitation to take what we’ve been given and steward it well, not out of obligation, but out of love for the One who gave it.

As we are faithful, He entrusts us with more.

This has been one of the most consistent realities of my life. Not always more money or more clients, but more clarity, more depth, more responsibility, and more joy in the work.

Generosity opens the door to abundance.

2 Corinthians 9 describes a God who is able to make all grace abound so that we can be generous on every occasion. That is not a prosperity gospel; it is a generosity gospel. When we give freely, He provides freely. I have seen this too many times to count.

We overestimate the short term and underestimate the long.

I wish someone had told me this clearly in year one. The seeds you plant today, in relationships, in generosity, in faithfulness, will produce a harvest that you cannot yet see. Don’t give up because the first season looks small.

Mistakes are not the end – they are material.

We have all made them. I have made them. But when you honor God and treat people the way you would want to be treated, putting them first, always, He has a remarkable way of turning your mistakes into something meaningful. I have lived that, too.

A Note to You

Every day, I pray that the Lord will help me and our team be faithful in the work He has called us to do, and that work is to serve you.

Not just to manage your portfolio. Not just to run the numbers. But to walk alongside you with intention, to ask the questions that matter, to help you connect your resources to your purpose, and to encourage you toward a generosity that reflects what you actually believe.

My prayer for you and for our team is the same one Paul prays in Ephesians 3:20: that God would do immeasurably more than all we could ask or imagine, according to His power at work within us.

That is not a small prayer.

But we serve a God who is not small.

Twenty-five years in, I am more convinced of this than I have ever been.

The best is still ahead for Bare Wealth Advisors, and for every family we have the privilege of serving.

Thank you for trusting us. It is not something we take lightly. Not for a single day.
